What is the PetroVisor Artifical Lift Optimization App?

What is it?

The PetroVisor Artificial Lift Optimization App optimizes the most commonly used artificial lift systems, such as electric submersible pumps, rod pumps, plunger lifts, gas lift systems, and jet pumps. This app allows E&P companies to reduce production deferment and downtime by automating critical computations with analytical, data-driven, and physics-based processes.

What Artificial Lift Types are included?

ESP PERFORMANCE MONITORING

Automated efficiency, head, wear, and head factor calculations are available for the wells to determine current operating conditions. Additionally, the solution provides anomaly detection capabilities using fuzzy logic, tracks when the pumps are outside of the predefined conditions and assesses the cumulative violations of the wells.

SUCKER ROD PUMP PERFORMANCE MONITORING

The package uses dynamometer card data to help clients identify rod pump problems, estimate production volumes, and perform stress analysis along the rod string. It also predicts the health status of the downhole card, revealing the root cause of underperformance using a convolutional neural network model.

PLUNGER LIFT OPTIMIZATION


Control and optimize each phase of the plunger cycle. PetroVisor offers a plunger lift optimization solution that combines physics and ML data-driven methods to determine the optimum setting points and support anomaly detection efforts.

GAS LIFT MONITORING


The package provides several KPIs, that serve as a diagnostic tool for gas lift operations, such as target injection differential and well performance factor metrics, which help detect underperforming gas lifted wells. It also includes workflows to monitor the stability of gas lift inflow and pressure depletion responses. Moreover, the solution tracks injection rate deviations as well as detects multi-point injection problems.

How does it work?

Applies gas lift monitoring with stability assessment -two stability criteria (inflow response and pressure-depletion response) are applied for examining stability problems and optimizing ongoing gas lift operations. The solution package also calculates theoretical injection rate on volumetric gas throughput of an orifice or choke, which can be used to detect multi-injection issues.
