Critical Gas Velocity Package

Calculate the critical gas velocity and critical gas production rate for wells and perforations

Usage and Configuration

To perform the calculations run the workflows from this package. The schedules may be adapted to use different contexts.

Follow the steps given in How do I configure packages pulled from Datagration's package repository to change the configuration of the package.

This package contains separate workflows for calculating the outputs on well and sub-well level. Depending on the specific needs, only the required workflows can be scheduled.

Details

Workflow Critical Gas Velocity And Rate (Well-Level)

This workflow calculates the critical gas velocity and critical gas rate on well level. The method used to calculate the critical gas rate depends on the well head pressure. For tubing head pressures smaller than 1000 psi, the Coleman equation is used, otherwise the Turner equation is used.

Workflow Critical Gas Velocity And Rate (Sub-Well-Level)

This workflow calculates the critical gas velocity and critical gas rate on sub-well (i.e. perforation) level. The method used to calculate the critical gas rate depends on the well head pressure. For tubing head pressures smaller than 1000 psi, the Coleman equation is used, otherwise the Turner equation is used. Signals stored on well level (e.g. well head pressure and well head temperature) are taken from the respective well.

The hierarchy used for retrieving values from the parent can be configured using the workspace value HierarchyWellPerforationRelationships.
