The A&D Candidate Screening Dashboard lets you compare the production performance and economic value of different operators for the purpose of making acquisitions.
The A&D Candidate Screening Dashboard consists of four pages with summary and detailed production and economic data for the wells and operators selected as candidates. The pages are:
- Summary: summary information by operator (NPV10, Production KPIs, Cash Flows)
- Production Activity: production history and forecasts, production KPIs, rankings
- Value Concentration: selection of acquisition candidates and the impact of those candidates' production performance and value on a buyer's performance metrics.
- Table Data: detailed tabulation of vintage production data and individual well data
The A&D Candidate Screening Dashboard uses two primary analysis and evaluation methods, both of which are provided by other PetroVisor packages.
- Production Forecast (DCA) package performs automated, well-level Arps decline curve analysis on wells in the dashboard to forecast production streams from historical production data, and
- Economics package performs well-level oil and gas economic cash flow analysis for each well used in the dashboard.
Navigate to Dashboard
In PetroVisor, Select "Dashboard" and scroll through the list and select the A&D Candidate Screening dashboard.
After selecting, the A&D Candidate Screening dashboard displays multiple tabs at the top to show additional pages.
The four (4) pages of the A&D Candidate Screening dashboard are:
- Summary: summary information by operator (NPV10, Production KPIs, Cash Flows)
- Production Activity: production history and forecasts, production KPIs, rankings
- Value Concentration: selection of acquisition candidates and the impact of those candidates' production performance and value on a buyer's performance metrics.
- Table Data: detailed tabulation of vintage production data and individual well data
Basic Report Features
All of the report pages have a refresh icon in the upper left corner. This icon will reset all filters and hierarchy levels to the initial default state of the page. Each page of the report includes a well count that will reflect all filters in effect.
All report pages have a standard, commonly-used set of filters as dropdown lists and three tree-maps for Operator, Field and Formation, which also act as filters. These filters remain on until they are toggled off, or the reset icon is selected. All of these filters allow multi-select so that multiple values from each filter can be included in the analysis.
Additional Filters
There are a few ways that data are filtered on reports. There are standard filters at the top of every page, as noted above, and filters on the right-side panel (shown below). Like the other filters at the top of the page, the side panel filters will remain in effect until removed with the reset icon. ‘Select’ filters occur when you select an item within a visual to temporarily filter or highlight the other visuals on the page with related data. To remove the select filter you may re-select the same item, select on the background, or select the refresh icon. Select filters are not retained if you leave the page.
The A&D Candidate Screening dashboard has four (4) pages, which are described in the following sections.
Summary

The Summary page includes production and economic analyses information. Production data are shown in KPI panels on the left side of the page, and in the lower right corner, where a production forecast for oil, gas, condensate and water is presented. There is a rank-ordered bar graph of NPV10 by operator, in addition to revenue, expense and cash flow charts.
Production Activity
The Production Activity page is focused on production data. There are no economic analyses results shown on this page. This page lets you examine production KPIs, historical and forecast oil, gas, condensate and water volumes, fluid ratios, and vintaged production by oil or gas production. The bar chart in the upper left is a rank-ordered display of total oil and gas production by operator. A toggle lets you switch between oil- and gas-based metrics. This toggle affects the display of the ranking chart, vintage chart, and the fluid ratio charts.
There is a tabulation of the historical production data in the lower left visualization on this page.
Value Concentration
The Value Concentration page is where you can do comparative analysis of multiple acquisition candidates. With this tool, you can select one or more acquisition targets using filters, see what the combined production and value of those targets are, and combine them with the production performance and value of a "buyer" to see the effect of adding the acquisition targets to the buyer's production and value.
Table Data
The Table Data page is a pair of detail tables of vintages and individual well data. These tables include production KPIs and various completion metrics. A toggle lets you switch between oil-focused metrics and gas-focused metrics.
